The Realm of Velharion

Story

Horns is a dark fantasy tale driven by a deep and layered narrative. Beneath its brutal world lies the lost history of Velharion, waiting to be uncovered through exploration, fragments, and the remnants of a fallen realm.

The realm of Velharion is divided between North and South, with the capital rising in the North as the seat of power and order.

To the East and West stretch vast settlements, mountains, and dense forests. These regions are home to humans, Arcanists, and dwarves alike, where life is shaped by craft and labor. Mining, fishing, and agriculture sustain these lands, forming the industrious heart of the realm.

The South, however, stands apart. It is the least visited and most impoverished part of Velharion, a place where the King’s authority fades. Bound by an uneasy agreement, the crown holds little influence there, as power in the South rests in the hands of a lord who pulls the strings from the shadows.

The story begins in the South

The story begins in the southern lands of Velharion, a region long shunned and feared by the rest of the realm. These lands are ruled by Lord Egannon, widely regarded as the most powerful and terrifying Arcanist in Velharion.

The South has become a refuge for those cast aside by the world. Outcasts, criminals, and forgotten souls gather here, forming a place where few laws remain and survival shapes every life.

Though it is the poorest and most untamed part of the realm, the southern lands conceal a history far deeper than they appear. Beneath the chaos and decay lie the buried truths of Velharion itself, waiting to be uncovered.

Crystal Lake Castle, the Capital

The ruler of these lands is King Eryndor Velhar, a man shaped by a long and powerful bloodline, yet remembered as the one who restored Velharion and brought order through law.

King Eryndor does not bow to magic, a stance that has created a growing divide between his people and the blood-born Arcanists who walk the realm.

Main Protagonist

The story follows the most skilled warrior in Velharion, a fearless woman known across the realm as the Blade of the Realm. Her name is Lyssandra Kailith, General of Crystal Lake Castle and the trusted right hand of King Eryndor.

Forged through years of battle, Lyssandra carries a past that runs deeper than most dare to uncover. Unwavering in her loyalty, she stands by her king without question, upholding his rule and defending the realm with relentless resolve.

For years, she has been the shield of the crown. Yet beneath her strength lies a story of her own, one that may prove as dangerous as the world she fights to protect.

Lyssandra’s Past

Born in the eastern settlements of Velharion, Lyssandra never truly knew her origins. She was raised by a humble carpenter from Erdwood Village, a man who took her in as his own daughter. From him, she learned the history of the realm and took her first steps in swordsmanship.

Her childhood came to a brutal end when her father was killed before her eyes, a moment that would shape the rest of her life.

King Eryndor, who had no heirs of his own, took notice of the orphaned girl. Moved by her loss, he brought her to the court and raised her within the walls of Crystal Lake Castle, giving her a place among nobility and a future far greater than the one she had lost.
